The Alpha Society is a by-invitation-only group of serious investors which arranges regular seminars with top professional speakers. These are typically held at the Savile Club in Brook Street, London and last around 90 minutes, including questions.
Past speakers at Alpha Society events include Jim Slater, Ken Fisher, Philip Ehrmann, Jonathan Compton, Jeremy Grantham, Anthony Bolton, Edward Chancellor and Colin McLean. Normal attendance is around 20-40 people. The programme for 2011 is the course of being prepared.
For regulatory reasons, membership of the Alpha Society is by invitation only. If you are interested in becoming a member, please email email@example.com giving your name, address and contact details, and your status as in investor (professional, High Net Worth individual, sophisticated investor, retail investor).
Cost of membership
The annual cost of membership of the Alpha Society is £125 per annum for UK investors, payable in advance. No additional charges are made for events, which are held at the Savile Club in Brook Street, London W1. All events are fully catered and there is an opportunity to meet and discuss issues with other investors. A minimum of eight events a year are held, and often more. Some individual events are sponsored.
Paying by event
Subscribers to the newsletter may apply to attend individual events at cost, which typically works out at around £25 per event. Attendance cannot be guaranteed, as acceptance is subject to availability. However do not be deterred from trying! We do our best to accommodate those who wish to come. As the meetings are held in a private members club, certain minimum dress standards (no jeans or trainers, a jacket for men) are expected to be observed. Those in breach of the Savile Club’s rules may find themselves excluded from events.
